Dunna Did It × Freewell: The Ultra-Slim Locking ND Filter System

Freewell × Dunna Did It

Every lens in your bag gives you a different way to see the world. It should not force you to rebuild your filter kit from the beginning.

Introducing the Dunna Did It × Freewell Ultra-Slim Locking Filter System: one modular ecosystem that moves across lenses from 49mm to 95mm by changing only the base ring. It combines magnetic speed, locked security, a remarkably slim profile, and true-color performance—so the gear disappears and the image takes over.

Developed side by side with creator, photographer, and filmmaker Dunna Did It for nearly a year, the system began with one idea: carry less friction, not less creative control.

The old way ends here

Ten lenses shouldn’t mean
ten filter systems.

Own the glass once. Change only the ring.

Engineered to disappear.

The solid ND filters measure only 2.95mm thin and weigh just 18.4g. That low-profile construction keeps a handheld camera nimble, a gimbal easier to balance, and a travel kit lighter.

The common 103.2mm system profile allows the same creative glass to move across the supported base-ring range. The result feels less like another layer of equipment and more like part of the lens.

Magnetic speed. Locked security.

Fast changes matter. Confidence after the filter is attached matters even more. Magnetic alignment brings the filter into position; a short clockwise turn locks it securely.

Build the look in camera.

Use a single filter, or stack compatible ND, CPL, and Mist filters when the shot calls for more. For the best handling and optical performance, Freewell recommends stacking no more than three filters at a time.

Control exposure. Cut reflections. Shape highlights. The creative decision stays in front of the camera, where you can see it.

See the difference—immediately.

An ND filter should change exposure, not rewrite the palette of the scene. The CPL restores control over reflective surfaces, while Glow Mist softens highlight roll-off and adds a cinematic bloom without sacrificing the detail that matters.

Nearly a year in the making

Built with Dunna.
Made for the way creators work.

Dunna Did It is a Vancouver Island–based creator, photographer, and filmmaker whose YouTube channel reaches more than 440,000 subscribers. His work moves between coastline, mountains, studio production, video, and stills—often with changing light and little patience for gear that interrupts the moment.

Over nearly a year, Dunna and Freewell refined the fit, lock, profile, and on-camera workflow. The result is not simply a name on a filter. It is a system shaped around how a working creator actually shoots.

More than a cap.

Turn over the protective cap and the built-in white, grey, and black references give you a fast starting point for exposure and white balance. It is a small detail that earns its place every time the light changes.

A fitted case keeps the filters, caps, and base ring together between shoots. Every piece has a place; the system stays ready for the next lens.

Frequently asked questions

Can the same filters fit lenses from 49mm to 95mm?
Yes. The filters use a shared system profile and connect through a size-specific base ring. Install the matching ring, then move the same filters between supported lenses.
Which lens-thread sizes are supported?
Base rings are available in 49mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, 82mm, 86mm, and 95mm.
Is the mounting system magnetic or locking?
Both. Magnets guide alignment and attachment; a short clockwise turn locks the filter securely to the base ring.
Can I stack the filters?
Yes. Compatible filters can be used individually or stacked. For the best handling and optical performance, Freewell recommends stacking no more than three filters at a time.
Which kit should I choose?
Choose the Videography Kit for fixed ND coverage from 2 to 5 stops and Glow Mist 1/4. Choose the Photography Kit for UV, CPL, ND64, ND1000, and the subtler Glow Mist 1/8.
