M2 MAGNETIC QUICK SWAP
Choose the M2 3 Pack or 5 Pack. Both use the same magnetic workflow for ND, CPL and UV filters in under a second.
MAGNETIC
BY DESIGN
01 / THE IDEA
Light shifts. Reflections move. Weather arrives. M2 replaces the slowest part of using a circular filter with a confident magnetic connection, so your attention stays on the frame.
No tools. No repeated threading. No digging for the right cap.
02 / THE WORKFLOW
Match 67mm, 77mm or 82mm to your lens thread and install the M2 base.
The magnetic connection aligns the filter quickly and holds it securely.
Move from UV to CPL or the ND strength included in your kit without unscrewing the base.
03 / CHOOSE THE JOB
Select ND, CPL or UV to see the actual job each included filter performs before it goes on your lens.
CONTROL LIGHT
Reduce incoming light to preserve a cinematic shutter speed, open the aperture in daylight or turn moving water and clouds into a deliberate long exposure.
Watch the exposure change as ND filtration controls incoming light.
CONTROL REFLECTIONS
Rotate the circular polarizer to manage reflections on water, glass and foliage while building richer color and clearer separation in outdoor scenes.
Watch reflections and surface glare change as the CPL rotates.
PROTECT THE LENS
Keep a clear protective layer between your front element and dust, moisture, fingerprints or accidental contact. Remove it magnetically when another filter takes over.
UV adds physical protection without deliberately changing exposure or the look.
LESS LIGHT.
MORE CONTROL.
04 / ND EXPLAINED
A higher ND number blocks more light. Choose a lighter ND for everyday video and a stronger ND when you need slower shutter speeds or longer exposures.
The 3 Pack includes ND1000. The 5 Pack adds ND8 and ND64 for wider daylight control.
05 / BUILT FOR THE FIELD
Engineered to keep the system compact on the front of the lens.
High-grade optical glass is designed to preserve clarity and natural color across stills and video.
Scratch-resistant, waterproof, dustproof and oil-resistant coatings help the filter handle demanding outdoor use.
The integrated holder helps remove the magnetic cap when using a compatible hood on a matching-size lens setup.
06 / CHOOSE YOUR KIT
The 3 Pack focuses on ND1000, CPL and UV. The 5 Pack includes those same three filters plus ND8 and ND64. Both use the same M2 platform.
Included with both kits M2 empty base ring, magnetic lens cap, protective filter case and cleaning cloth.
07 / CHECK THE FIT
Match the M2 size directly to your lens thread, or use the correct Freewell Step Up Ring to fit a larger M2 system to a smaller lens. One filter size can then work across several lenses.
EXAMPLE SHOWN · 49MM → 82MMHOW THE STEP-UP RING WORKS
The first number matches your lens thread. The second number matches your M2 filter size. In this example, the ring adapts a 49mm lens to an 82mm M2 system.
One system, more lensesUse the correct Freewell Step Up Ring for each smaller-thread lens.
Lens hood: matching size onlyAn 82mm hood can work with 82mm M2 on an 82mm lens. A 67mm hood will not fit when that lens is stepped up to 82mm.
Wide-angle readyA single filter has been tested at 16mm on full frame without an issue.
Its own ecosystemNot cross-compatible with M1, V2 or K2. Compatible with Eiger matte box.

09 / QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Thread the M2 base ring onto your lens once. From there, M2 filters attach and release magnetically, so you can move between protection, light control and creative effects without repeatedly threading filters onto the lens.
M2 is available in 67mm, 77mm and 82mm. Look for the Ø symbol on the front of your lens to find its thread size. You can also use a step-up ring to adapt a smaller lens thread to a larger M2 size.
The M2 3 Pack includes ND1000, CPL and UV for long exposure, reflection control and everyday lens protection. The M2 5 Pack adds ND8 and ND64, giving you lighter ND options for video and bright-day shooting. Both use the same M2 magnetic quick-swap workflow.
Yes. Choose one M2 size, then use the correct Freewell Step Up Ring on each smaller-thread lens. For example, a 67mm–82mm step-up ring lets an 82mm M2 system fit a 67mm lens. The ring must match both your lens thread and M2 size.Choose the correct Freewell Step Up Ring ↗
Only on a matching-size setup. For example, an 82mm M2 system on an 82mm lens can retain its compatible lens hood. If you adapt that 82mm M2 system to a 67mm lens with a step-up ring, the original 67mm lens hood will not fit around the larger filter system.
Yes. Remember that every additional layer of glass may introduce softness or vignetting. The result depends on the lens, focal length and number of filters, so test your intended stack before an important shoot.
Freewell has tested a single M2 filter at 16mm on a full-frame camera without an issue. Lens designs vary, and stacking filters can change the result.
No. M2 is its own magnetic system and is not cross-compatible with M1, V2 or K2. M2 circular filters are compatible with the Freewell Eiger matte box.
Remove loose dust first, then use the supplied clean microfiber cloth. Avoid isopropyl alcohol, which may damage optical coatings.
