The lens mounts to a 17mm threaded phone case or rig and is designed to align with the phone’s 1× main camera. Compatibility therefore depends on the 17mm case or rig made for your phone, not on one specific iPhone or Samsung model.
Does the 6X lens attach directly to a phone?
No. It threads clockwise into a compatible 17mm lens mount on a phone case or rig. The mount keeps the lens correctly centered and supported over the 1× main camera.
Should I use a tripod with a 6X smartphone lens?
Yes. A tripod is essential for consistently sharp 6X results because six-times optical magnification also magnifies small hand movements. Add a timer or remote shutter when possible to keep the frame completely still.
How do I focus the Freewell 6X Telephoto Lens?
Mount the lens over the 1× main camera, frame your subject, and rotate the manual focus ring until the important detail appears crisp. The minimum focusing distance is approximately 5 meters.
Can I use filters with the 6X Telephoto Lens?
A 43mm adapter ring is included in the box. The 6X lens is not compatible with Freewell’s slide-on smartphone lens filter system.
